My Garden to Me

Submitted by Adelle N.

My garden to me
is a sanctuary
it never whines
it never complains
it never yells mom ,when it rains,
Crickets and beetles galore
it likes bugs I abhor
butterflies, humming birds, robins tweet,
all the plants the deer eat,
trees and shrubs short and tall
the Japanese beetle, that eats them all
Quiet morning strolls, a hot cup of tea,
whacking moles, sore knees,
a back with a stoop
smelling like poop
a plant for every season
bought with no rhyme or reason
buds, blooms, and weeds
pips, bulbs and seeds,
Spring, summer, winter, Fall
I Love being a part of it all
death, beauty, growth, and birth,
My slice of heaven on Earth.

Gardeners' Quotes

"Vines provide a distinct ornamental touch; while their versatility in size, texture, color and bloom time artfully blends architecture with the landscape," Natural Life, Guide to Landscape Plants-Second Edition.
