My Garden

Submitted by Alison H. of Sturbridge, Ma

The back yard is my canvas,
My trowel is my brush.
I sit outside to contemplate,
I do not have to rush.
I wander out to see the girls
I know that this seems silly
That out of Sharon, Rose, and Susan,
My favorite one is Lily.
I sit among the Scabiosa,
four kinds of scented Yarrow.
I love that I am finally home,
and can have my coffee here tomorrow.
The Dragonflies and Songbirds
Buzz around and sing to me,
for in this hectic time of life
they are such perfect company.
My coffee is all finished
and the sun has peaked the trees.
You can bet that I'll be here at noon
eating pizza with the bees.

Gardeners' Quotes

From a National Gardening Association review:

"Since its [original] publication in 1978, ...Park's Success with Seed has been one of my favorite resources for starting seeds of vegetables, herbs, and flowers."
